Sustainable Travel Accreditation and Recognition for Schools

STARS Final Conference

STARSPTP-Cycle, and MOBI projects organised a conference on 18 February 2016 in Brussels to present results and share knowledge with European cities on embedding cycling culture in schools through accreditation and peer-to-peer methods, delivering personalised travel advice, and promoting sustainable mobility among employees through gamification.

This conference was a joint initiative of these projects, all coming to an end in 2016.

The conference presented final results and conclusions drawn from each project at three break-out sessions.

The Conference started with a presentation of the 3 projects and a the key note speech "What makes us change behaviour? Tapping into human psychology".

A roundtable with international speakers debated what initiatives prove cost effective for cities to reduce car traffic, air emissions and noise, and how cities, urban and transport planners can tap into travel behaviour change techniques to better cater for pedestrian and cyclists.

A panel with 5 participants from the 3 projects discussed about the way they have changed behavior because of the projects.
